Did you know that the original name for Her Universe was Sci-Girl. This was my original cover page for my business pitch. I made it by hand out of magazine clippings. It’s was an inspiration board of what I wanted to do and what I wanted “Sci-Girl” to be. A month before our company launch, our Sci-Girl trademark did not get approved and I had to scramble to come up with another name quickly. The tag line for Sci-Girl was going to be “It’s Her Universe.” With no other options, I decided to take Her Universe from the tag line and make it the company name. Thankfully we were able to get a trademark for our new name and Her Universe launched on June 22nd, 2010. I was cleaning my room and found this paper and wanted to share this piece of our history. Now, I couldn’t imagine our name being Sci-Girl. It’s funny how everything works out for a reason!
